How do I dispute a charge on my Upgrade Visa® Debit Card?

Debit Card and ATM disputes are handled directly by Visa. Upgrade partners with Visa to ensure a timely and proper investigation of your claim. Visa will provide you with their outcome directly, as well as handle any appropriate refunds to your Upgrade Rewards Checking Plus /Preferred account.

Before contacting Visa, here are a few helpful tips to save time:

  • Make sure the transaction has been posted to your account. Visa will not be able to process your dispute if the transaction is still pending. 
  • Contact the merchant and request that they reverse the charge.
  • If anyone had access to your card, such as a family member or friend, ask them if they made the charge.
  • Review your receipts to refresh your memory of your recent purchases.

If you see a charge on your Upgrade Visa®  debit card that you did not authorize, please give Visa a call directly at (866) 236-7969. Ensure that you have your debit card handy, as the Visa representative will need your card number to access your account and initiate your dispute.
